Melisa Denis

Melisa Denis of Southlake was appointed to the Board in 2020, and her term expires in May 2025.

Melisa retired from KPMG in October 2020 After a distinguished career with the firm. Prior to her retirement, she served as KPMG's National Tax Leader for Consumer Goods and was the global lead partner on two multinational accounts. She also held leadership roles as the overall Consumer and Industrial Market Leader for Dallas and as the Major Market Leader for Global Mobility Services ("GMS") in Dallas and Denver, bringing extensive international tax and human resource consulting expertise to her clients. During her tenure at KPMG, Melisa served as the CFO and board member of the firm鈥檚 Global Mobility practices international advisory board. She began her career with Arthur Andersen and later relocated to Montreal, Canada, for a two-year international rotation before repatriating to the U.S. and joining KPMG in 1996. She was admitted to the KPMG partnership in July 1998.

Melisa was instrumental in founding KNOW (KPMG Network of Women), a grassroots initiative that began in Dallas and expanded nationally. Her passion for mentoring and supporting women led her to establish a nonprofit organization, The Board Connection, in 2009. The organization is dedicated to increasing the number of women serving on corporate boards and in executive leadership roles by providing development opportunities and building pathways to board service.

Melisa has received numerous accolades, including being named one of DFW's Top 25 Changemakers by the Dallas Business Journal Women in Business Awards in 2010 and a winner of the 2011 w2wlink Dallas Ascendency Awards. In 2013, she received the Outstanding Alumni Service Award from the University of North Texas.

Melisa earned both her undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Texas. She and her husband have two children.
